To My Supporters, Neighbours & Friends:

It has been my privilege to serve as your City Councillor for the past four years. Serving the residents of Wards 7 and 8 is a priority to me. Together we have achieved many positive results, however; we still have a lot more work to do. I am proud to continue representing your interests at City Hall. I have been listening to your concerns and feedback and will continue to advocate on your behalf. That is why I am asking you for your support in electing me to Council as your Regional Councillor for Wards 7 & 8.

To continue advocating for Future Ready Brampton, Accountability & Transparency, Infrastructure, University, LRT & Transit, Job Creation, Crime Prevention & Safety, Health Care and Community Leadership

Brampton is thinking bigger. The City is growing and undergoing amazing growth with an innovative plan for the future. I am supportive of building a vibrant community where our residents are proud to live, work and play. Our city is moving forward to a brighter future and investing in the pride of the community.

Many of you have contacted me regarding your disapproval with the purchase of Riverstone Golf and Country Club. You have expressed your concerns that the facility will not solely be a Seniors Centre like Flower City Seniors Centre, but instead a facility for all ages. I voted against this purchase because of the cost to taxpayers and what I believe was insufficient public engagement and transparency with this purchase. I would have preferred a public town hall for residents and seniors committee to express their views and concerns associated with the Riverstone deal before the purchase was finalized. This property was on the market for several years and there was an updated market appraisal done to establish the true current market value at the time of purchase by the City. The property was purchased 2 ½ times more than the Market Value.

I believe in order to further strengthen the transparent and independent at City Hall, it would be wise to continue outside independent audit of City finances and review of how tax payers’ dollars are spent through the annual budget process.

I have been a strong voice on Council for road maintenance and restoration works, including street light rebuild and replacement, bridge rehabilitation, road resurfacing, intersection improvements and traffic signals. As a member of the Accessibility committee, I have also advocated for the equipment replacement at playgrounds, making them more accessible for all to use.

I am committed to focusing on key priorities to maintain building a strong infrastructure and providing valuable services in Brampton. Building vibrant, healthy and prosperous communities for residents will require that all levels of government work together to ensure the right infrastructure is in place. Financing infrastructure maintenance and construction is one of the most pressing challenges facing Municipal Governments today.

I am committed to community safety and will continue to advocate on your behalf. I have been meeting with Peel Police and residents to discuss public safety issues affecting Wards 7 & 8. As a Member of the Council Advisory Safety Committee, I will continue to advocate through the City and external agencies to develop a core safety plan for all residents.

As your Councillor, I enjoy getting out in the community and meeting with you face to face. I try to personally visit residents who have concerns or positive suggestions in making Wards 7 and 8 a better place to work, play and raise a family. I am committed to making your voice heard in Wards 7 & 8, and in our great City of Brampton. Your concerns, suggestions and advice continue to inspire me to work with you to build a community.
